Walls and ceilings finished neatly, so that after the right drying time they are ready for painting.

Bedroom under a sloping roof after plastering, smooth and paint-ready

What does paint-ready mean?

Paint-ready (in Dutch: sausklaar) is a very smooth finish level for plasterwork. The wall is finished so evenly that after drying it only needs a primer and paint. No extra filling or sanding is required.

Wallpaper-ready plaster is flat, but small imperfections are hidden by the wallpaper. Paint-ready plaster is finished extra smoothly, so it looks flawless even in side light from a window.

The benefits

  • Ready for paint or latex once dry
  • No extra filling or sanding needed
  • A flawless look, even in side light
  • Suitable for walls, ceilings and sloping roofs
  • Painting by us included on request

Ideal for attics and bedrooms

In rooms with roof windows and sloping walls, light falls across the wall from the side and every imperfection shows. With paint-ready plastering you can be sure the result stays smooth, also after painting.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between smooth and paint-ready plastering?

Smooth plastering is a flat, smooth plaster layer. Paint-ready describes the finish level: the wall is finished so smoothly that it can be painted directly after drying.

Do I need a primer before painting?

Yes. New plaster is very absorbent. After drying, first apply a primer or a diluted first coat so the paint adheres well and dries evenly.
